The Busan Sky Capsule is one of the city’s most scenic experiences and it definitely lives up to the hype. If you’re planning on adding it to your South Korea itinerary, here’s everything you should know before you go.

Booking Tips and Best Times to Go
If you want the coveted sunset time slot, make sure to book well in advance online. Those tickets tend to sell out quickly. However, if you’re flexible about when you go, you don’t necessarily need to book ahead.
Instead, plan to arrive early at Mipo Station before it opens to get in line for same day tickets. I visited during cherry blossom season which is one of the busiest times of the year. I got to Mipo Station about 15 minutes before opening and was able to secure a ticket.
I’m actually glad I didn’t book in advance because the day I had originally chosen was gray and rainy. You might be better off grabbing last minute tickets if weather is looking iffy during your stay.
Ticket Options and Prices
You can choose between a round-trip ticket or a one-way ride on the Sky Capsule. A one-way ride gives you the option to walk back along the coast or take the Beach Train for a different view.
One important note for solo travelers is that you’ll need to purchase two tickets, even though you’re riding alone. The total came to about $30 USD for me when I went in March 2025.

Which Station Should You Start From?
I recommend starting at Mipo Station rather than Cheongsapo. This way, you’ll ride on the outside track closest to the water, which offers the best ocean views.
Walking Back Along the Coast
I decided to walk back instead of taking the Beach Train and I’m so glad I did. The walk took about 30 to 40 minutes, and it was absolutely beautiful. Along the way, I wandered through a marina with two small lighthouses and even discovered a rocky beach that you can walk down to. There’s also a skywalk over the water with a glass floor for those brave enough.

Taking a Busan Sky Capsule Tour
If you don’t feel like scheduling this activity on your own, there are some group tour options that include the Sky Capsule along with other Busan highlights. This would be perfect for those with a limited amount of time in Busan.
Final Thoughts
Sometimes you try a popular Instagrammable tourist attraction and you never know if it’s actually as good as people make it out to be. I will say I absolutely loved taking the Busan Sky Capsule and would do this activity again. You get such incredible views and I really enjoyed my walk back through Blueline Park.
